dpattinson Posted August 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just noticed a couple of weird raw files from the stuff i shot on Sunday. The attached is a stright jpeg conversion of the file in PSE. Anyone have any idea what might be happening here? It looks like some kind of partial overwrite of some files that might have been on the card from a previous day's shooting - but that seems rather odd. Jaka Skorjanc Posted August 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2007 I found this problem too with my new firmware (07), till now it happened once after 4 days and around 500 shots. Still testing. Jaka
Jamie Roberts Posted August 6, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2007 Wow, I'd only seen this once on the previous firmware in some 5K shots--it seems like the previous shot is being overwritten, and it was the first sign the card was a bit flaky. I haven't seen it on the newest fw yet. Was the battery really low, by chance? Had you formatted the card?
Shootist Posted August 6, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 6, 2007 It's more then likely a SD card problem. It is corrupting the files. I saw something similar on a HDD in a friends PC. The HDD started to die and all the image files on it were all jumbled up and even the one that weren't combined with other images were all askew, Parts of the image were moved from there oringinal place to another in the same image, with odd color shifts. I had some of them on my PC but I think I deleted them after my friend said to not bother trying to fix them.

Jamie Roberts Posted August 6, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 6, 2007 David-- Yes, I always dump to computer, then reformat in camera. Just like new "film" every time. @ Ed--I think so too... but it'll be interesting to see if it crops up again...
