Hi Leica Forum,

I have a V-Lux 5 and 2nd day use, and not an experienced camera user.  Yesterday, tried many settings and managed to shoot some ok photos of plants outside, things in the house and my dog.  Today, planned to venture out to look for some moving objects and first switched the camera on to just look around and the picture was out of focus badly.  I changed from Auto Focus to Manual and tried adjusting zoom but soon got a "System Error Focus" message and then "Switch Camera off and on" which I did.  This continued for several hours of trying different modes but same error kept coming up within about a minute of the camera being on.  Sometimes I could find a zoom at certain objects and picture was very clear, but nothing else could be focused on.

Is there anything obvious anyone can suggest to help?  Much appreciated.

Yes, return the camera and have it exchanged.

I will if nobody has a solution.  Difficult with shipping from USA to Thailand, then back.  I'll write the Amazon seller first.  If anyone has a solution in the interim, much appreciated.

You've got me confused. Are you in Thailand or the USA? If you live in the USA and bought the camera from Thailand, you won't get support from Leica USA. You will have to deal with Leica in Wetzlar, or get an exchange from the seller.

I live in Thailand, purchased the camera through an Amazon reseller that is in the USA
