I use and love the Leica Telyt-R 350mm.  Here is an example used on a Leica M-10:

Slow to focus, low contrast, longitudinal chromatic aberrations.  After using the 280/4 APO it was a disappointment.  For a decent affordable 300mm lens I prefer the Canon FD 300mm f/4 L, with software correction for lateral chromatic aberration.

Photos are 350/4.8 samples.

Hey, telyt - long time no see!

Thank you Andy!  Unfortunately I can't contribute much to Leica-related discussions because my current use of Leica equipment is nil-to-none.  Happy to participate where I can though.

Old thread, but I couldn’t resist. As others have said: reasonably sharp if stepped down to f/8 (it’s sharpest at f/11) and quite a bit of color fringing which can be corrected in Photoshop to some degree. I wouldn’t use it on a FF sensor camera, but it can give really good results on an ASP-C sensor camera where only the inner image circle is being used. I use it on my Fuji X-T3 for casual bird photography.
