The flash in little size that comes with the package, use the camera's battery, does it mean although tiny but should still be quite "powerful"? Even close to the SF20 (or the SF24)? (Looks like it consumes a lot of power from the D Lux 7 batter in just few pop flash testing...) I think the main usage I would set for could be for fill-flash, reduced around 2 stops in setting... Small flash units lack sufficient power to illuminate distances beyond one meter or so. However, they can help to brighten nearby shadows.
