I noticed that his camera had a crack right through the display from left to right. He said that his nephew had fallen in a pond and he jumped in after - bashing the M8 on a rock and submerging it in the process. jonoslack Posted August 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2007 Shaggy Dog Story I was out with the dog the other day - he had been swimming: As usual I had the M8 (plus WATE and frankenfinder) in my hand with the shoulder strap dangling - the (very wet) dog zoomed past me, catching the strap around his neck. My frantic shouting stopped him in about 15 metres, during which time the camera had been swinging wildly, and bashing on the hard, dusty ground with every step. When I reached him he was sitting quietly with the camera hanging neatly around his neck, water dripping freely all over it. It was very muddy, and extremely wet (with water in all the cracks and around the shutter release). While the dog sat and watched I cleaned it up with my tee-shirt. It already had a few scuff marks, so I'm not sure if there are any new ones (no obvious ones at least). The lens was a little gritty when zooming and focusing for a few minutes, but now all is back to normal. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Using these on a Professional level camera's need to be able to handle abuse and as careful as i maybe there is always the time something happens. My M8's are starting to wear a little nothing bad and actually quite the worn look but when i slam it into a wall or fly's off the shoulder onto the concrete.
