macos Posted August 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 6, 2007 Arthur, the transillumination makes a real glow on my screen, perfect exposure by the way. A very nice picture, which once more enlightens the hidden treasuries of nature. Cheers Marcus

Artichoke Posted August 10, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted August 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) this orchid looks simple at first glance, but with more careful look rewards one with an appreciation of its wonderful complexity I did use a backlight on this, Marcus and I think it helped a great deal as well ...I usually use relatively simple lighting for my orchids, but this one seemed to need a bit more pizzaz thanks for taking the time to comment muchly appreciated

Artichoke Posted August 15, 2007 Author Share #11 Posted August 15, 2007 I appreciate your kind comments regarding "glow" I did use a bit of backlighting with this and that may explain some of it the 135 TE lens is a vintage Leica and does render macros beautifully regarding tending to orchids this is more of a family affair and we divide duties in caring for our collection ...I do the heavy lifting and spraying as well as the funding ...all critical or delicate work is performed by the orchid experts in my family, my Mum & Dad
