coupdefoudre Posted November 1, 2024 Share #303 Posted November 1, 2024 (edited) My late friend, Pulitizer Prize-winning (for his coverage of September 9-11 for The New York Times) photographer Ed Keating, the first time I met him (by happenstance at a farmer's market). How many of those who worked at Ground Zero have passed in an untimely manner, from illnesses? 75mm Summilux wide-open Welcome, dear visitor! Yes, I realised that defect, along with the flat lighting. But I like the expression. It was taken in a hurry - a series of shots for publicity, using AF - at the end I ran through a couple of other lenses for comparison - but didn't have the camera set up for magnification with MF lenses. Topaz Photo AI would have sharpened the eyes - but that would mean the image was no longer a true example of the Summilux-M 75. Edi. Here you are. Nice sharp(er) eyes. Welcome, dear visitor! Love the lighting! Well, I intended her eyes to be tack sharp! The shots were all for publicity for the musical Amelie - if you know it, you know that photobooth shots come into it quite a lot. This very pretty woman has dimples to get lost in when she smiles, but with the overhead lighting they were deep and dark - not flattering! It did not actually matter in the context, but this is one of the few I felt able to post here. Edited January 6 by LocalHero1953

Roland Rick Posted February 9 Share #318 Posted February 9 (edited) Hi guys, I am new here. This is brilliant idea to share images wide open. I purchased a version 2 of 1983 last Saturday, ist that glow and CA normal? I see here samples which don't have it. Is it possible my lens has a glitch? Stopping down to 1.7 it's almost gone, down to 2 it's gone. But my intention is of course to use that lens wide open. SL2-S, ISO 100, 1/4000. Had to compress it to 75% for retaining full resolution, upload is limited to 2.44 MB. - I appreciate any reply. f/1.4, 1/8000 Welcome, dear visitor!
