It will be my first leica camera and im very excited a out it. Im going to just buy one lense. First of all because of expense haha but im considereing the 24-90 due to versatility. Im mainly going to be doing lamdscapes and street photography. Thoughts or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thank you If concerned about the expense you could consider buying a secondhand 24-90 from a reputable dealer who offers a 6 month or 12 month guarantee. Buying a s/h lens which has always been used with a UV filter is a safe bet … and it will depreciate less than a new lens. Furthermore, with the c. £900 saved by buying s/h you could buy e.g. a Leitz / Leica R 60mm f2.8 Macro Elmarit and R to SL adapter for close-up photography.. dunk

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated I’ve had it for a few weeks now I’m im really delighted, the combo of my M lenses and the 24-90 is really outstanding. I also love the Sigma 45mm F2.8 as in many ways it has a Leica M feel to it. Next purchase will probably be the 35mm SL APO F2 but then again Wilkinson Camera’s in the UK has the Sigma 35mm F1.4 for £549 at the moment ... decisions decisions! Did you have any issues with the weight of the 24-90 on the camera . Some people have mentioned that was an issue them but to me i dont see it being one. To me the 24-90 would have to be so versatile. Wether your shooting landscapes, street, portraits, wedding's or taking pics of your family. To me its a go to lense . Yes, the SL (and now the SL2) are big and heavy. But that's true for most DSLRs too. I used a Rock & Roll Napa neck strap and it really helped my neck tolerate the weight. But by the end of a full day of walking around with the SL/24-90 my neck would not be happy. I highly recommend massages while in Vietnam as they are dirt cheap and will keep your neck happy. chinngiap Posted January 18, 2020 Share #45 Posted January 18, 2020 I suppose it is a matter of getting used to the weight. I am more concern of the Safety and possible high Jack of bad guy trying to steal my Leics camera as the red dot 🔴 is so prominent. I rarely take this canera with me when I travel to places that are not safe. I normally tape down the word Leica and the red dot! What would you hv done! respond anyone? I alway bring along my Sony RX1D series II, a very much smaller camera than Leica SL. What about the rest how to improve on weight issue?? Cheers! CN Tan.
