johnbuckley Posted November 18, 2019 Share #1  Posted November 18, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) For those curious about the Leica-branded red double rope strap in the promotional material for the SL2, please note that it has just been announced by COOPH. While waiting for the great Harry Benz to ship one of his LSD straps for my (hopefully) soon to arrive SL2, I admit to having found the red strap in the promo materials alluring. I'm looking forward to Harry's delivery because his Brogue strap worked incredibly well with my SL. Given the linear, not circular construction of the strap mechanism of both the SL and SL2, typical strap connections won't work as well as they do on, say, an M, and Harry has an ingenious way around it. So does COOPH. Please note they have BOTH the circular rings and a connection that works identically to the strap that is supplied in the box.   Edited November 18, 2019 by johnbuckley

bherman01545 Posted December 9, 2019 Share #2  Posted December 9, 2019 SL/SL2 Strap Options - True, but the circular rings should NOT be used on an SL or SL2, which have the slotted bracket-type strap attachment points. You would use the split rings for an M or CL or other which has standard strap lugs. The SL or SL2 does better with the 3/8" nylon web attachments or a loop attachment, like the Peak Design anchors (v4 or better) or an UpStrap with the Vectran Loop ends (my current choice) -Brad
