A rare treat for me to have seen the only mid / rear-engined Scarab (1962) Grand Prix car. Unfortunately, FIA rules changed before it was finished and sorted and consequently never turned a wheel in anger in F-1.

Since we're on the subject of Lance Revelow and his Scarabs, here's another lucky encounter I had with one of the original Scarab sports-racers....8 produced, God knows how many actually are still out there. This is definitely one of the 'unmolested' originals.

Certainly Gems of the racing world.. I was telling my wife, the first GT40's where built in Slough, West London. At times in the early morning you could see them test driving on the M4, this. stopped when the motorway speed limit was introduced..    Regards,  L
