Thank you! The spec sheet wasn't detailed enough for me to get a good read on the SL2's video capabilities.  I agree with you and am looking for 4K 60fps 10 bit full width output, too.

撮像素子には4700万画素という驚異的な画素数を誇る35mmフルサイズCMOSセンサーを採用しており、圧倒的な解像感と高画質を実現します。また、広いダイナミックレンジ、RGB各色14bitの色深度、最高ISO感度50000の高感度性能により、光の状況を問わず美しく鮮やかに描写できます。「Leica(ライカ) SL2」よりも小さい撮像素子を搭載した「Leica TL2」や「Leica CL」用に設計されているTLレンズを使用しても、2000万画素以上の高画質で撮影できます。

「Leica(ライカ) SL2」の大きな進化のひとつとして、手ブレに合わせてブレを打ち消す方向に撮像素子を動かすことで高速かつ効率的に手ブレを補正する機能を新たに搭載しています。ボディ内手ブレ補正機構により、SLシステムの単焦点レンズやMシステムレンズなど手ブレ補正機構を搭載していなくても手ブレを抑えて撮影することが可能になりました。

EyeRes(R)電子ビューファインダーが576万ドットとより高精細になりました。これにより、自然かつ大きな表示を見ながらより快適に撮影できます。また、タッチパネル液晶モニターも、サイズは3.2型、ドット数が210万ドットとなり、より大きく高精細な画面でさらに操作しやすくなりました。

画像処理エンジンには、新たに「LEICA MAESTRO III（ライカ・マエストロ・スリー）」を採用しました。これにより、処理性能が大幅に向上し、さまざまな撮影機能がより高速化しています。オートフォーカスでもさらなる高速化を実現し、どんな状況下でもきわめて短いシャッタータイムラグで撮影できます。オートフォーカスの新機能としては、被写体の動きに応じてカメラが自動的にAFsとAFcを切り換える「インテリジェントAF機能」を搭載しています。また、メカシャッター使用時は最大記録画素数で10コマ/秒、電子シャッター使用時は最大記録画素数で20コマ/秒の高速連写が可能です。メモリーカードスロットは2つのスロットの両方がUHS-IIに対応しています。これにより、画像をDNG形式とJPEG形式で同時に記録する場合でも、より高速に記録できるようになりました。

シネマ4K（C4K）モードでは最大60fps、フルHDモードでは最大180fpsの動画を撮影できます。写真作品だけでなく、映像作品の制作でも威力を発揮します。Cineモードでは、マニュアル操作が可能なシネマカメラとして使用できます。Cineモードに設定すると、ISO感度はASA感度に、シャッタースピードはロータリーシャッターの開角度に、絞りの開き具合を示すF値は光の透過率を考慮した実質的な明るさを示すT値に変わります。また、マイク端子とヘッドフォン端子を新たに装備しています。これにより、オーディオ機器を接続する際にアダプターが不要になりました。さらにHDMI端子も装備しているので、外部モニターに映像を出力することも可能です。

レンズマウントにはLマウントを採用しています。これにより、ラインアップの拡充が続くSLレンズはもちろん、TLレンズも使用できます。また、比類なき描写力を誇るMレンズをはじめ、SレンズやRレンズも、アダプターを介した装着で撮影を楽しめます。170種類以上のバラエティ豊かなライカレンズのラインアップから、被写体や状況に応じて最適なレンズを選べます。また、Lマウントアライアンスに参加しているパナソニック社とシグマ社のLマウント対応レンズも使用できます。対応レンズが非常に豊富に揃っており、撮影の楽しみと表現の可能性が無限に広がっています。

写真の可能性を広げるアプリ「Leica FOTOS」（iOSおよびAndroidに対応）ももちろん使用できます。「Leica FOTOS」は、スマートフォンにインストールした後に、Wi-Fi接続（スマートフォンの仕様によってはBluetooth(R)接続も可能）によって「Leica(ライカ) SL2」と直接ペアリングすることができます。ペアリング情報は記憶されるため、一度ペアリングを行えば次回からは素早く簡単に「Leica FOTOS」を使用できます。「Leica FOTOS」では、スマートフォンの画面にライブビュー映像を表示して撮影できます。また、スマートフォンから絞り値、ISO感度、シャッタースピード、露出補正などを設定することも可能です。そしてもちろん、スマートフォンでシャッターを切ることもできます。このリモート撮影機能を活用すれば、これまでにないクリエイティブな表現を実現できます。
現在のスマートフォンは画面が高精細なので、高画質で撮影した画像をそのままフルサイズで表示して仕上がりをチェックできます。また、画像とともに撮影時の設定も表示さるので、設定を微調整して撮影し直したいときに非常に便利です。
撮影して気に入った画像は、直接SNSにアップロードしてシェアしたり、スマートフォンに保存して編集や加工ができます。「Leica FOTOS」は、さまざまな人気の画像編集アプリと連携させることも可能です。画像はDNG（RAW）形式で画像編集アプリに取り込むことができるため、デジタル画像の編集・加工がもたらす可能性をフル活用できます。編集・加工を終えた画像をスマートフォンに保存しておきたい場合は、「Leica Gallery」に保存できます。また時間をかけて丁寧に編集・加工して完成させた作品と気軽に撮影したスナップ写真とを区別して保存できます。なお、iPad用の新機能を多数搭載するとともに、新しいワークフローを可能にする「Leica FOTOS」のバージョン2.0を本年11月下旬に公開する予定です。

As I said, the specs don't say anything about usability (or, for example image quality using M or R lenses.) But it is helpful to know how different are the technical capabilities of the new SL2 are compared to the existing L mount champ, the S1R and if one is giving up any built-in capability by choosing one over the other in terms of basic functions--like flash systems. For some of us, certain capabilities (for me, for example, flash) are important. I had heard rumors that Leica was expanding its range of flash options and was disappointed by these specs, which I hope are not the full flash story. As an event shooter, that's important to me--even before I've physically tried out the SL2. Is it a deal-breaker, probably not. But it is worth noting.

Sillbeers15, my sincere apologies for wasting your time! That was not my intent. 

Both cameras look similar on specs. We still do not know how the SL2 performs in real world. I take it that worst case is such that it is a S1R clone. So verdict can only be formed after using it.

Sounds promising. Exactly my point said previously that a more powerful processor is critical not just to manage bigger files due to higher resolution sensor but also speed up autofocus calculations critical to AF tracking. Did your source came from an independent reviewer or from a Leica marketing write out?

SL2 is definitely and noticeably smaller and lighter and easier to handle than S1R. 
835g with battery vs 1020g with battery. 18% of difference in weight. 

However SL2 is 81% more expensive than S1R in France. 

But these features can sweeten the deal :
- Special micro lenses designed for M lenses

- Automatic R and M lenses software correction are exclusive to Leica’s. 
SL2 can even apply different correction according to guessed aperture. 

- DNG native with SL2. Only Panasonic proprietary RAW for S1R. 

- exclusive camera and UI design from a Munich design studio. (Neither Audi nor Porsche) SL2 was not developed in-house at Wetzlar.  
 

- using same battery than SL and Q2  

Is it enough ? 

 

The worst point is a close to zero TTL/HSS flash support for the SL2. A real shame. This point alone can drove most of customers to S1R

It is my exact consideration to buy a Pana S to allow me to employ my SL lenses plus accessible to 3rd party lighting.

Waiting to determine if I should get a S1 or S1R. If SL2 sucks, natural to get a S1R. Else I hope to get a S1 instead.

Hassy got it right first time by adapting Nikon flash protocol on H series and X series. Leica is too stubborn to change.

Regarding flash, this is an old problem with Leica, they always wanted their own "system" (even in the film days) and it was never any good. When I brought it up one time with the local rep I got an answer like "who  on earth uses flash with Leica?"... I just don't get it, the Nikon flash protocol is really good, and super easy to use.

At least it would likely be possible to unlock it with pure software updates, so if enough of us nag at Leica, maybe finally they will come around

I do not quite agree. Look at the Vlux, it does not share the common Leica flash protocol, rather it uses Pana/Olympus M4third common flash protocol. Leica should adopt either a high volume camera maker flash protocol such as Nikon, or standardised one based on L mount alliance ie Panasonic & Leica & Sigma.

Which kan be solved by having a menu selection of "Leica flash vs Nikonflash". For the M one can live with the Leica flash system, but for S/SL I think it's really stupid not supporting third party solutions.
