Stuart Richardson Posted November 5, 2019 Share #3 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) There is an event in Paris tomorrow with Stefan Daniel and Steve McCurry starting at 4pm, which is not much after, so it makes sense... hoppyman Posted November 5, 2019 Share #4 Posted November 5, 2019 No event announced in Australia as yet for anyone who may be interested. One rumour suggested a bit later
scott kirkpatrick Posted November 5, 2019 Share #5 Posted November 5, 2019 (edited) 2 PM in Miami FL is 8 pm in Paris (if everybody is no longer on standard time), so that is fashionably late. What usually happens with an announcement is that there is a release embargo until morning in NY, mid afternoon in Europe (so 4 PM in Paris would be consistent with a 10 am release in NYC.) And there is a traveling show scheduled to go around the world for the following 6 week, keeping Leica's whatever it is in the news until Xmas... Edit. Oops, this Dale Photo is in the UK Edited November 6, 2019 by scott kirkpatrick

'It's your choice' ......... does that imply more than one variant of the SL2 ?????

The more boring interpretation is 'grab it' if you desire.

One rumour suggested a bit later we're not important enough down here, one guy in the Sydney leica store tried to deny the SL2 was about to be released, this was the same TOOL that tried to deny the Q2 was coming out as well, I buy overseas now if I can

So maybe visit your dealer at 1pm and join the queue Some might have refreshments dunk
sillbeers15 Posted November 5, 2019 Share #13 Posted November 5, 2019 The same announcement in Singapore is in the evening of 9th Nov. Kind of a let down I think after Europe announcement take place later today. Well I guess Steve McCurry cannot appear at two locations in the same time.

helged Posted November 6, 2019 Share #17 Posted November 6, 2019 (edited) full set of specs: https://leicarumors.com/2019/11/05/here-is-the-full-set-of-leica-sl2-camera-specifications.aspx/. Strange - no mentioning of IBIS as far as I can see. Particularly since a multishot mode is available (stack of 8 images, yielding 187mp). And no mentioning of optional long exposure noise reduction (LENR). GPS via FOTOS app. Large buffer (78 DNGs), and up to 20 fps w/electronic shutter. helged Posted November 6, 2019 Share #20 Posted November 6, 2019 1 minute ago, Agent M10 said: Multishot? Yes. Either the sensor can be physically shifted, without having the full IBIS-machinery implemented. Or, which is also possible I guess, that the sensor is physically fixed but that the sensor area is slightly larger than 8368 x 5584 pixels, so slightly shifted images are used to form the 187 mp Multishot image.
