Ivar B Posted October 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received these two lenses in L-Mount. I knew the 85mm beforehand as I had one in Canon EOS mount. Optically it is unbelievably good but it did not really work with the Novoflex EOS/SL adapter. So nice to be able to use this lens and actually see that the autofocusing works as it should - fast and accurate and minimal hunting. Also the 35mm seems to work perfectly. Autofocus is fast and precise, and perhaps less noicy than the 85mm. I have not had the chance to test the 35mm yet, but those who have describe a fantastic performance. I believe that Sean Reid is at present testing this lens (and the Apo-Summicron-SL 2/35) and it will be interesting to hear what he has to say. Always nice to read tests where you are certain that the tests have been carried out professionally.
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Hi Ivar B, Take a look here Sigma Art 1.2/35mm and 1.4/85mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Mick H Posted October 22, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2019 Hi Ivar, let me know how you like the 35 1.2 as I have that lens and use it on my SL. I also use a Nikon version Sigma 105 1.4 on a Novoflex AF adapter. That lens is not yet available in L Mount in the USA. I may trade my Nikon version for a L Mount version or I may wait to see if Sigma will release a fast DG DN (mirrorless only design) telephoto prime. That prime would match with the 35 1.2 conceivably. An 85 1.2 or another option may be in the pipeline based on what we have seen so far from Sigma. The 105 1.4 is rather large (DSLR design).
