Perhaps worth considering the 75mm Summilux as a dual purpose lens: wide open for portraits and stopped down very sharp for landscapes.

Given its weight and price, it darn well ought to do the jobs of two other lenses. ;)

Fortunately, it does.

Anyway, the quintessential landscape "Moonrise over Hernandez, NM." was made with a Cooke Triple Convertible lens, which on 8x10 can be converted to focal lengths equivalent to about "42mm," "71mm," and "94mm." The various technical descriptions of Ansel Adams taking that picture do not refer to which of those he used, but I've stopped at his shooting location in Hernandez, and an 85mm on a Nikon cropped slightly from his image, so "71mm" (476mm on 8x10) is the most likely.

So happy with the 75 cron, for me I would not consider - especially due to weight. I can't imagine walking all day carrying that in the bag

I don't use a 75mm much but when I do it's the Summarit 2.4.  Pretty light and compact and it's hard to fault the image quality.  I also have a Summarit 35mm 2.4 ASPH (my main lens) and think the line represents terrific value.  I just wish the 75mm had a focus tab like the 35mm, I miss it when I switch to the 75.
