J.Nordvik Posted October 1, 2019 Share #41 Posted October 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Then there is the size of the LCD/OLED panel. It is difficult finding information on this, but Leica SL should have what is called 0,66" and Sony A7Rii 0,5" (I have also seen 2,4MP panels as 0,4" and 1,4MP panels as ,4"). The bigger the panel the bigger the viewfinder. (What 0,66" means in size I do not know. Probably nothing to do with real size) And of course there is the optics to make the viewfinder. A big format panel with high resolution with great optics will make a big EVF. I can not see Leica or anyone else make anything better for the same size when it comes to resolution. Refresh rate and black-out time is another topic, but I think the camera is the problem there. Not the EVF.
Advertisement Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Hi J.Nordvik, Take a look here Visoflex 020 upgrade. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
budjames Posted October 7, 2019 Share #42 Posted October 7, 2019 I'm okay with my Visoflex on my M10. The slowness of Live View will not be improved with a newer Visoflex replacement. Shooting my Noctilux on my recently acquired slightly used SL is a much better experience than shooting this lens on my M10. The SL sets a higher bar for focus peaking too. simonr Posted October 7, 2019 Share #43 Posted October 7, 2019 My Visoflex for my M10 is great.I couldn't live without it. Sure I ditch it for general photography and zone focusing, but for portraits at closer distances, it's a must. You have to consider that different lenses at different f stops can be very slightly off using the rangefinder due to focus shift or whatever else, so the visoflex fixes all that. Of course it's a bit clunky or slow and it can be frustrating at times with subjects blinking, but it is so well worth having. It's far more frustrating tryng to nail closer focus without it. I've got so used to it. I love it. Game changer with the M10. No heat problems to speak of.
