Loving the rendition of the CV35/1.2

I am loving the rendition of the Voigtländer 35mm f1.2. I also have a Zeiss Biogon 35mm f2.0, which is superb for architecture and objects. It is ultra sharp and very contrasty. However, for people and mixed subjects the Voigtländer 35/1.2 has a lovely gentle rendition particularly for skin tones. The Zeiss can be very unkind to less than perfect complexions, verging on harsh. The colour rendition of the Voigtländer is also quite different being less primary than the Zeiss and noticeably softer and more pastel. I don't think there is much point posting examples, as I don't think the difference would come across on a 950 x 600 image. Initially, I was dubious about CV lenses, given their low price, but I am now a convert. I did quite a bit of focus testing and aperture shift testing on first getting the lens and technically, it was absolutely first class. It is quite a bit easier to use than my Noctilux, with its shorter focal length and one half stop slower. It does not quite have the dreamy/creamy tones of the wide-open Nocti but it is close, at one quarter the price.

Can you post some samples, Wilson? I've never tried any CV lenses, apparently there're some great one definitely worth awhile. Perhaps I should grab one of these CV35/1.2 limited coming in August ... thanks.

Sdai,

I will see if there is anything representative tomorrow. Been a long day today, travelling, hanging around airports or driving much of the day.
