fredus Posted August 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi there! first short trip with my Q2. I’ve noticed that under low light, the EFV start lagging I.e the frame per second start to fall to level that makes it difficult to track a subject. Is this normal? I’m using field focus and spot metering.
Advertisement Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Hi fredus, Take a look here Laggy EVF in low light?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jared Posted August 16, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2019 Yes, this is normal. When the light gets too low, the only way to show an image in the EVF that isn’t just noise is to increase the exposure time. That necessarily sucks in lower frames per second and thus a laggy EVF. AD007 Posted December 21, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 21, 2019 That lag in evf really suck. Not a pleasant shooting experience.
jaapv Posted December 22, 2019 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2019 Yes, but is rather the norm for EVFs and technically unavoidable. The refresh rate cannot be faster than the exposure time. An optical viewfinder is far better in this respect - obviously.
