satijntje Posted July 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I just discovered that my M9 has a problem. I see a red hot pixel in each picture and when I do some PP the pixel changes to a vertical line. I assume that this is a dead pixel and that the M9 needs to be remapped in Wetzlar? What are typical costs for this? Does the Leica Technical has to remove the leatherette for this? I have a special leather that I would love to keep. Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted July 30, 2019 Share #3 Posted July 30, 2019 Indeed a remap. If it is possible by sofware, Leica will not open the camera. If however, the sensor is out of tolerance, it will have to be exchanged. Call them for a return label. Keep in contact by telephone. Leica has been known to offer reduced-price a-la-carte leather sometimes for cases like this.
Robert M Poole Posted July 30, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 30, 2019 I had a line of dead pixels. Leica replaced the sensor but that was back in the days of free sensor replacements...
satijntje Posted July 31, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted July 31, 2019 Remapping will be done for about 250€. Turnaround time 3-4 weeks. Its on its way to Wetzlar john
