hirohhhh Posted July 30, 2019 Share #1 Â Posted July 30, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Leica SL was always too heavy when in vertical mode (which I use mostly for my studio portraiture work) and the camera itself is dropping and changing the angle on my tripod head (Siriu FD-01 4 Way). So I bought this L-bracket, but it has couple things I don't like, so what I'm asking here is an alternative to this L-bracket, which solves some or all of the following issues: 1) It's so sharp, I made a signifficant scratch on the camera after first use. I didn't have any scratches on SL since I bought it in 2016, and it's so annoying that $50 thing damaged $5000 thing on the first day. 2) When mounted, I cannot pull out the battery as the lever is covered with the bracket. 3) When mounted, I cannot tether because the rubber cover on camera is too big for this bracket's hole. In-fact, I can do that, but it feels so tight that gain, I'm afraid this $50 thing will damage $5000 camera. 4) I need a tool all the time with me to screw this thing on the camera. This is not a big issue, but would prefer less things to carry and think of. Any other L-brackets that works with SL without these issues? Or completely another solution to make my camera firm in vertical mode on tripod.

sarkis Posted July 30, 2019 Share #4 Â Posted July 30, 2019 This one: https://www.reallyrightstuff.com/BSL-Plates-for-Leica-SL Put it on my camera 2 years ago and it's never been off. Â It's a quality piece, it extends the grip, and it feels good in the hand. Â Good luck, Scott
99p Posted July 30, 2019 Share #5 Â Posted July 30, 2019 Another endorsement for the RRS bracket. Expensive but worth every penny.
Leicaiste Posted July 30, 2019 Share #6  Posted July 30, 2019 It should be attached to any SL.
