Michael-IIIf Posted July 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) One for the car section. Not strictly a car but there's bound to be some one here who can identify this working antique. That's an interesting thing about France: second hand vehicles are so expensive that this is still considered viable transport. We watched its owner using it each day. No it is not a collector's piece, it's a working van. Most other countries would have crushed this twenty years ago, not France. Advertisement Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Hi Michael-IIIf, Take a look here Blue van. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
samwells Posted August 2, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 2, 2007 Michael - nice faded 'bleu de travail' on this one...not sure which Renault this is, tho...looks kinda 1970s. The ones I really like are the old Citroen corrugated vans, model 'HY' (or 'Ashy-Grecks', as our son used to call them when he was around 10)...often an indeterminate grey, and ultimately used as chicken coops. Thanx for bringing back memories. cheers: sam
Michael-IIIf Posted August 2, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted August 2, 2007 Sam, I'm sure your guess at the age is probably correct. It had lots of R4 parts but I don't think it is built on an R4 chassis. It was full of typically French rational engineering such as a sliding door on the driver's side - ideal for deliveries - which was so well engineered it was only on a double-take I noticed it slid. Just like the Citroën "Tube" - charming. Michael
