I am struggling with the AF system on the TL2. I have the CL and it seems faster and smarter.. In particular I find with the 23mm F2 some back focus, front focus, and also just plain missed focus no matter the setting. For TL2 users can you make suggestions on getting the best results from the TL2 - I won't be shooting pro hockey or busy children...:)

Cheers, Terry

Hi,

Have just started using the TL2 and have found focus to be very hit and miss.

Tried all the focus methods. - and for me the touch focus has been the worst as it is the least reliable.

Has anyone else had this issue and sent it off for warranty check? - that is my last resort.

I have a Q  which is perfect every time.

... or is it just a quirk of the TL2 with such a light and thin body?

I can see that it could be a back focus problem at f2 on the 23mm.

I have both and the CL has faster AF than the TL2 - it is one of the reasons I traded my TL2 in for the CL at the launch of the latter (I later bought a TL2 again as back up for a holiday trip). I think the CL is just a later generation of AF compared to the TL2.

The thickness of the body is irrelevant. The register distance I.e.flange-sensor distance is identical on all L mount cameras.
