Musotographer Posted July 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have (with the help of Pedaes) managed to get my signature inserted into my profile - but when I click on it, rather than going to my external website, it just brings up a window with 500 | Server Error. If I highlight it and cut and paste in a new window it works perfectly. I messaged 'Contact' a couple of days ago, but no reply so far - any suggestions please? Jeff S Posted July 20, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 20, 2019 When I click on your name here, it brings up your profile. At bottom, when I click on your website, it brings up (redirects to) your site with no problem. Are you referring to another access issue? Musotographer Posted July 20, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted July 20, 2019 Well that's good news - thanks. No, that's the issue - perhaps there's a glitch which prevents my link opening when I click it myself, rather than someone else doing it? Could you try from within this message please? Jeff S Posted July 20, 2019 Share #6 Posted July 20, 2019 Works fine using my iPhone. Jeff

farnz Posted July 20, 2019 Share #8 Posted July 20, 2019 Christopher, I use Safari, which says that it can't validate the security certificate for the site at the link and is probably the cause of the problem. It might be that others' browsers are less fussy or users have their preferences set not to flag the security certificate issue hence why some members have no problem viewing your site and some members do. I would ask the question to www.pipa.com (if that's the host website). Pete.
pedaes Posted July 20, 2019 Share #9 Posted July 20, 2019 Good point, Pete. Should have said, message shown above was through Safari.
Jeff S Posted July 20, 2019 Share #10 Posted July 20, 2019 (edited) FWIW, I’m also using Safari on my phone and MacBook, and both access site (using most current OS). Don’t know of any security settings I’ve disabled. But Pete’s suggestion is still good, as reported access is not consistent. farnz Posted July 20, 2019 Share #11 Posted July 20, 2019 I'm using a fairly old version of Safari I think so that *might* account for differences between Jeff's and mine. Pete.
pedaes Posted July 20, 2019 Share #12 Posted July 20, 2019 Mines latest so 'old' version not sole issue.
Musotographer Posted July 20, 2019 Author Share #13 Posted July 20, 2019 Thanks Pete - I got in touch with pixpa as soon as I was aware of the problem. They had no trouble at all at their end so suggested it must be something to do with the LUF site. I use Safari too (also fairly old as I'm still on OS Sierra), but as I can use the link with no problem at all from within my profile but not from within a message (such as this one) I think they may be right. It's not the end of the world anyway - though having gone to the trouble of building a website it would be nice if it were easily accessible!
