deekay Posted July 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 6, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) New to Q.... Using the Q2, what settings do you recommend for street photography to ensure a reasonably fast shutter speed and good depth of field? Setting the shutter speed manually at say 1/250 and the aperture at 8 or 11 and letting the camera choose the ISO? I know that some set the shutter speed and put the lens on A - essentially shutter priority - but I don't like giving up control of the aperture. Some Fuji users use aperture priority and set the camera to not not go below a certain shutter speed - not sure that's possible on the Q2. Any advice much appreciated. Leica Guy Posted July 7, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2019 It is possible with the Q2 to set a minimum shutter speed limit associated with Auto ISO. I find that works well. Select an aperture and A-shutter, Auto ISO. The camera then optimizes shutter speed and ISO. If conditions get towards the dark side, it’ll drop shutter speed to your preset limit and then raise ISO. At least that’s how it appears to work so far on my Q2.

jbripley Posted July 8, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 8, 2019 I have a dedicated profile for street photography that sets face/field focus, auto iso to max 6400 and minimum shutter speed to 1/125. I then put my camera in aperture priority, usually somewhere between 2.8 and 5.6, sometimes switching to fully manual by setting a lower shutter speed when I want to introduce motion blur.
