I'm hoping for some help here...

I am new to shooting Leica. I had previously been shooting with a Hasselblad (using the waist level finder), and prior to that a normal 35mm SLR.

I find with my Leica Monochrom (M9M), I tend to get blurry vision in my non-dominant eye. I do shoot with my left eye shut, but that is also how I shot with my Hasselblad and my 35mm SLR. I never had blurry vision in my left eye with these cameras (with the Hasselblad, I often held the camera up to my chest, with my eye right up to the magnifier of the WLF). I know I am not closing my left eye too tightly. I do not have any issues if I keep my left eye open with the Leica, but I find it too hard to compose an image that way.

I already saw an ophthalmologist--I still have 20/20 vision.

I have gone through a lot of posts and seen others mention this problem, but I haven't seen anyone come up with any solutions aside from keeping both eyes open. That just doesn't work for me unfortunately. Also, since the M9M has a CCD sensor, the Visoflex isn't an option for me.

Could the built-in diopter have anything to do with this? I believe it must have something to do with the rangefinder since I can't reproduce the issue with any other cameras.

I'm at a loss here and ready to sell the camera. I do really enjoy the images, so if anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

You can get an add-on diopter to correct your vision; I have on on my M9M and it works pretty well. The diopter’s power is (I think) the same as that of reading glasses, at least in the US. I don’t know if other countries have different systems.
