Nice set of photos. Do you have any details about this church, couldn't find anything about it.   Clearly  a modern (50's) reconstruction of a 19th century Gothic revival ruin. Only reference was a Munich architect, Richard Riemerschmid but dates don't fit. Thanks

Hello @war,

I only can give you this link. Unfortunately this is only in German, but it will work with Google.

https://www.johannis-wuerzburg.de/gemeinde/st-johanniskirche/geschichte-der-johanniskirche

I met the priest there yesterday and he gave me his email address. If you want, I'll ask him if I can pass it on to you. The church was destroyed in World War II.

Regards

Alex

Thank you Alex. There is a wealth of information in the link that you sent. Reinhard Riemerschmid was in fact the architect of the post war reconstruction, I had the date of his death wrong, so he was alive and well for 40 years after he did this work. He was a noteworthy architect.

Thank you, and thanks to Google Translate!

Regards, Wally
