notifications stay marked unread

It seems that all notification from June 1st onwards are again marked unread.
Even when the link is followed, they stay marked unread. Even the new ones from today for instance.

Now I just got the opposite:  notifications I hadn't yet followed were marked as read.

This is happening to my notifications now.

For example, a notification I read on Sunday has just shown up as unread.

I hope it's just a 'glitch' and not indicative of a more serious issue with the forum software.

I've had a problem like this for a few weeks now. I thought it was linked to getting a new laptop (cookies etc) but seeing that others have the same question, I guess not.

The behaviour seems random: sometimes notifications show as bold even after I've checked them, and sometimes they show as not bold even though I'm looking at them for the first time.

It used to be simple: notifications were bold till I followed up the first one, then they all went not bold. That was a bit irritating for those rare occasions I had a lot of notifications: it made it difficult to be sure I'd checked them all.

I still have this problem. I made four posts last night, all of which generated notifications; all four were shown NOT in bold - as if I'd read them already.

The original behaviour wasn't ideal before: ALL notifications, initially shown in bold, changed to not-bold the first time you clicked on just one. The ideal behaviour would be as Facebook: all notifications to remain bold until you'd clicked on each one, or asked for all to be 'marked as read'.

Any feedback from the forum managers?? It's getting difficult to identify new notifications.

As far as I can tell, this features seems to be working as before again.
