Will the size of the M8 affect people buying?

The reason I am posting this question is I contacted a London Leica dealer who had a Leica Rep in the shop by chance at that time and the only bit of information that the Dealer had found out that I have not seen mentioned here is the M8 is going to have a 2.5'' LCD on the back .Which upon hearing this made me think is this going to be a camera of ' M size ' dimensions or alot bigger, which would affect handling.I mean if people pick up the camera and its bigger than an M7 will it still feel like an M or is everybody happy for it to be bigger ? ,

Agree with Mark and all the info I got from some good resources it is basically the same size as the M7 but just a little thicker for the LCD screen and it is going to be 2.5 . Now if I may say something about leica and there LCD screens. I had every Canon DSLR made and also the Nikon D200 . The DMR may have a small screen BUT it is the ONLY screen i am able to see in daylight. Not sure who leica gets there LCD from but hopefully that has not changed on the M8 and i doubt it would change but seriously I have not seen a LCD this good on any body out there. It actually works in daylight and I am in the brightest State in the US where the sun shines 340 days a year (Arizona) so this is really a benefit that you do not hear about very often.

I don't think it will be that big of a deal. There are plenty of very small cameras on the market with 3" screens. Remember that the screens are measured on the diagonal.

If the camera is bigger in size, I would bet the screen is only a small part of the equation, and rather the added electricals would make the bulk of the difference.

Thanks for your replies,I must admit after posting the question I did see a picture of the Ricoh GRD on the back of a camera magazine and that screen is large for a camera of that size .I think before I raise any more questions I will wait for Leica to display the M8 to the whole world and I'm sure they wont let us down,

The M7 has a few mm's more height than the MP, I have the latter and used the first. Differences are minor if not not noticeable. As long as the M8's proportions are not going to be M5ish ore worst I do not think it's going to be bothersome. Anything better than a uge DSLR.

cheers,
