jpattison Posted June 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Does anyone know of an ARCA SWISS type (the universal Standard UniQ/C fitting) quick release plate that has the security pin to fit a Leica SL? I feel that if the hole is there on the camera, it must be for a good reason ! I have found this, but I'm not sure? https://www.speedgraphic.co.uk/arcaswiss_type/novoflex_qplat1_50mm_antitwist/8495_p.html Thanks, John Edited June 19, 2019 by jpattison

jpattison Posted June 20, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted June 20, 2019 Actually this could be the one... https://www.novoflex.de/en/products-637/camera-support-systems/quick-release-units/qsystem-quick-release-units/qsystem-quick-release-plates/qpl-video.3037.html John
jpattison Posted June 20, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted June 20, 2019 Hi, I guess this is THE ONE, although I can't see it fitting the standard quick release base? There seems to be only one angled edge. The spec does say it fits the Arca Swiss Monoball Classic System. .https://www.robertwhite.co.uk/supports-brackets/shop-by-brand/arca-swiss/arca-swiss-quick-release-camera-plate-for-leica-r.html Has anyone tried this item? Leicaiste Posted June 23, 2019 Share #4 Posted June 23, 2019 The RRS B26. https://www.reallyrightstuff.com/plates-brackets/plates-brackets-cameras/camcorder-cameras
FlashGordonPhotography Posted June 23, 2019 Share #5 Posted June 23, 2019 The RRS L plate designed for the SL doesn't have a pin but definitely won't twist as it matches the base perfectly. Unless you're looking for something cheaper then this is the only plate I'd buy. Gordon

You can remove the LHS right-angle plate to just use the base. Stays on my SL all the time 😃 I have also screwed a SpiderPro pin into my RSS base to use with a clip-on belt holster: https://spiderholster.com/product/spiderpro-pin/
