I recently brought a 720nm filter to experiment with B&W Rollie 400 infrared film, but haven't got around to developing the results yet.

In a slack moment yesterday I wondered if I could use this filter with one of my digital cameras to get some colour infrared images without ripping the camera apart and taking off the built in sensor filter.  Obviously I needed a camera with a rangefinder, and after conducting the TV remote test decided on my Digilux 1.  Only problem was it does not take filters without the additional filter holder which I don't have.  After a search around the various piles of junk in the shed and the kitchen cupboards I stumbled upon the top from an old pepper mill which seemed to be around the right size and after a bit of shaving I got the result below (excuse the iPhone image).

Seems to work well but at this level of infrared blocking and to use handheld  I had to use the wides aperture and a slow shutter but it managed around 1/45 to 1/60 so usable.  I'm now looking for  a filter in the 580nm range to go fo the 'Goldie' look.  Anyway, couple of the results below.

Thought I would bump this up a little with a couple of images I took some time ago but but recently processed using colour channel swapping in GIMP (I don't have PS).
