They won't even comment on the sensor they plan to use. Presumably from Sony?

Being a cynical old soul I am left wondering if that's because Sony won't let them until they, Sony, have announced their own camera using this sensor and this pre-announcement by Panasonic of an announcement of a future camera which will, if past performance is a guide, be "launched" to the press with beta firmware which prevents detailed assessment of image and video quality is (if you are still with me after such a long sentence 🤣) just an attempt by Panasonic to spoil Sony's own upcoming camera launch. 🙄

DPReview has some interesting speculations about the S1H specifications that Panasonic hasn't announced here.

It makes good sense although it doesn't address why Panasonic is so reticent about saying what sensor is used in the S1H. I wonder how many Panasonic expect to sell? It seems to me that you'd have to want the (few?) extra features of the S1H over and above the S1 plus the SFU2 upgrade very badly to choose the S1H. 🤔

Personally, I have a hard time understanding the DPReview notes and comments, as if they're trying to sound unnecessarily technical, just to show off. Still photographers trying to look cool talking about motion 🙂

Here's another link, an interview by someone who is a filmmaker originally:
