My M7 has been away for repair since November last year, no sooner does Alan Starkie get one problem sorted than another or sometime two reared their ugly heads. We also had a 3+ month wait for the spare parts from Wetzlar. It seems as if it was very poorly repaired at some time in the previous ownership and this was probably what lead to the failure of the motor drive shaft and all the other issues. A couple of weeks ago it was not looking good and I started to look around for another M7. I came across this one last week https://www.quoka.de/hifi-audio-tv-video-foto/digitalkameras-webcams/c7285a249742551/leica-m7-summilux-m-1.html This seems very good value but not such a silly price so that alarm bells ring immediately. If it was a scam, I think they would choose a more valuable lens like an APO or Nocti.

Just as I was about to email to enquire, I received an email from Alan that all the problems, many of which were found to be interlinked, have been resolved and all is now working perfectly with spot on shutter timing and motor merrily winding. 1/1000 was running at 1/500, which for an electronically and electromagnetically controlled shutter is a mile off. As during the M7's repair, I had acquired a Motor Drive R9 and a free R4-MOT also with motor-winder R4 and I already have an e46 50 Summilux IIISE,  I don't need another modern film Leica or the lens. I am therefore posting as some other forum member might be interested.
