Dave in Wales Posted May 3, 2019 Share #1  Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) As far as I can make out the Elpro's were made for the 'R' series. I've just acquired an Elpro 2 and it has two threads, one 55mm the other I think 44mm, it measures 43.7mm. Any ideas what the smaller thread is for, just out of interest Picture borrowed from seller. Advertisement Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Hi Dave in Wales, Take a look here Elpro 2, two threads, why?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gbealnz Posted May 3, 2019 Share #2  Posted May 3, 2019 I'm guessing the 44mm thread is to interface with the first version Summicron R 50mm. My Elpro V1a and V1b have 44mm threads from memory. Gary
a.noctilux Posted May 3, 2019 Share #3 Â Posted May 3, 2019 That design is for compatibility of previous lenses. Leitz/Leica can be proud for that. The second thread is M 44 x 0.75 to be used on older Serie VI lenses like Summicron-R 50mm 11228 (numbering to 2 777 650) or Elmarit-R 35mm 11101, for example. Elpro 1 (16541) shares same thing.
