Leica store UK are, as I type, currently offering the SL (Typ 601) Kit with Summilux-SL 50mm f/1.4 ASPH for £6950, tax included - link.

Using a price comparison site the cheapest I can buy the camera, 50mm f/1.4 lens and included cable release for separately in the UK is £8435. A similar story with the 24-90. Have I been living under a rock or is this deep discounting unusual?

New SL for £3195, wow, at its price heyday new SL was close to 6 grand.  Sobering lesson in digital camera obsolescence.

Last month I part exchanged my SL for Z7.  It was bought S/H for £4000, 2 years later i got 2200 for it.

While I'd love to believe these prices are because the SL2 is imminent it may be no coincidence that the two lenses in the bundles match the recently released lenses from Panasonic for the S1/S1R: this may be a reaction to sales of the SL being hit hard by those two cameras. If I weren't a glass half full kind of guy I could even extend that line of thought to wonder if Leica is seriously considering whether it can recoup its costs if it does release an SL2 anytime soon! 😟
