Bencolelau Posted April 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 17, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I have recently purchased a Used M6 TTL. Received the scans from my first roll. However it seems like there's light leak in probably 60% of the scans. Could this be a light leak due to the camera or lens? Thanks. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8wyw1xjubcbxajt/AABa3IWovhrFRoTjDOQ4UUT6a?dl=
Advertisement Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Hi Bencolelau, Take a look here Help Needed. Light leak?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted April 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) The light leak is only at the beginning of the roll and coming from below (the image you see right way up is upside down in the camera), and has all the characteristics of the baseplate being removed either soon after the roll was loaded, or removed before the roll had been fully rewound into the cassette. I would say it is user error. The only other explanation would be if the roll was exposed to light during processing except for the blank frames 15 to 18 after which the 'leak' stops which suggest again something being done by the user. Thanks for your help. I will try it out with another roll to see if it happens again.👍
plaidshirts Posted April 17, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 17, 2019 Do you recall removing the baseplate before finishing the roll? I haven't done it with a Leica, but have done it with SLR's in the past. If not, it could have something to do with the shutter curtain where it is warped on the bottom and doesn't seat correctly but somehow after frame 18 it snapped back into place. It's a long shot but the only thing I can think of.

Thanks for the advice.👍
