burbank@ntnation.com Posted July 24, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted July 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pansonic has announced two new successors to the equivalent CLUX-2 product.... the FX33 and FX55.... Â The main difference is that the FX55 has a 3 inch LCD and the FX33 has a 2.5 inch LCD... otherwise they are identical. They improve the Clux2 to 8.1 megapixels, a larger sensor (I think), and more onboard processing options for face recognition, super-auto-focus mode, etc. Â Both shipping in September. Here's a link to the dpreview.com page on them. Â Panasonic DMC-FX55 and FX33: Digital Photography Review
Advertisement Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Hi burbank@ntnation.com, Take a look here CLUX-3 From Panasonic Announced?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
miami91 Posted July 24, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted July 24, 2007 Looks to be the same size sensor (1/2.5) as the predecessors. Just more pixels and a larger screen for the one (with a slightly larger body as well). Same processing engine as well. Hard to see these (or a C-Lux 3) as a worthwhile trade-up if you already own a C-Lux2. Â Jeff.
sjöbjörn Posted July 25, 2007 Share #3  Posted July 25, 2007 They also announced a new model with large zoom, FZ 18. It includes a Leica zoom with the range from 28-504 mm (24*36 mm equivalent). Will be interesting to se if such a zoom can have sufficient performance ( at least their 35-420 seems to be quite nice) and if we can see it in a V-lux 2.
