ChicagoMatthew Posted April 7, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 7, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got a brand new 50mm Summilux and the aperture ring is not as tight as my other leica lenses. It moves forward and backward just a little. I’m not talking about the dentents or rotating between apertures, I’m talking about lateral play. It’s not a lot, but it’s eniigh to annoy me. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

budjames Posted April 10, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 10, 2019 I have a. Summilux 50 that I purchased new. I used it infrequently, but after about 7 months, the whole front section of the lens came loose. I sent it in for warranty service which turned it around in a 2 days. It's been fine since. But this is the second new Leica lens that I had issues with the required warranty repairs. So much for the legendary Leica quality. I would just sent it in to have Leica check it out. charles_nl Posted September 23, 2019 Share #6 Posted September 23, 2019 Old thread I see, but I just returned a Dec 2017 Summilux 50mm lens for the 2nd time for a similar problem: the distance ring came loose in Mar 2018 and brought to the shop, was returned by Leica after ~8 weeks and returned to the shop last week for a "redo". A bit fed up I am. Charles
