JUZ Posted April 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have not been able to successfully answer this question in other forums. I have an original Russar 20mm (not the new Lomo version) and want to try it on an M9. But I am afraid it will damage the shutter with its deep rear lens. Has anyone used it on an M9? Thanks. Advertisement Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Hi JUZ, Take a look here Can you use an ORIGINAL VERSION Russar 20mm lens on an M9?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 2, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2019 You can never damage the shutter with a lens that doesn't damage the shutter of a film M. The distance is approximately the same. But you may damage the baffles in front of the shutter, and damage the inside of the camera mouth when mounting a collapsed lens. So mount extended. You can find the rest of the answer in the FAQ: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/216580-leica-m8-m82-m9-m9p-mm-mtyp240-faqs-questions-with-answers/?do=findComment&comment=2464102
Ko.Fe. Posted April 2, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 2, 2019 (edited) I have seen pictures and know person who is using it on original Monochrom (same shutter, body with M9). https://www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=48332030%40N03&view_all=1&text=Russar%2C Monochrom In color you will need old cornerfix plug-in to fix color cast in corners. JUZ Posted April 18, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted April 18, 2019 So I finally tried the Russar and for the record it does indeed fit and work well! (Except for the color shift on the edges.)Thanks for your reply. So I finally tried the Russar and for the record it does indeed fit and work well! (Except for the color shift on the edges.)
