Jamie Roberts Posted July 24, 2007 Share #21 Posted July 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree, though I don't like moderator control I'm a stickler for self control And really--I don't mind Vic's rants where appropriate, but this is just completely inappropriate, since there *are* BW capture settings on the M8 under the saturation menu! So Vic--for the love of whatever epistomological event or entity you currently hold dear--lay off the film crap in this thread, ok? We all know how you feel. But one of the choices here is BW digital on the M8 itself. Leica put it there. It's no threat to your use of TriX. BW digital--that's what we're talking about here. Next you'll be telling us that people who use conte crayon on white paper have no respect for the traditions of film photography. Duh.

norm_snyder Posted July 24, 2007 Share #22 Posted July 24, 2007 Sorry for the double post earlier. Right now I have to go....I feel a need to go over to the film forum and address the toxicity of hydroquinone to the environment. NS
Mauribix Posted July 25, 2007 Author Share #23 Posted July 25, 2007 what an ignorance........ tech-toy-boys......... illiteral in photography............. people that lost all the respect to traditions and heritage of photography............ tell me...... have u ever seen b/w print that was called in one of the photoshop names????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? what an ignorance......... tell me........ where the F*** u stick the b/w film into the m8 ?????????? Thanks a lot Vic, I couldn't live longer without this. I had film cameras since I took my first Konica, but then, times change, and had to manage those "B/W settings" on my M8, and i was just asking informations on how to obtain best film-like results with this "useless" technology... Thanks Norm (really wonderful B/W from the age of technology), thanks Lars, Jaap, Jono, Jamie and Bob, You've hit the center.... I like sometimes to threat my M8 as a normal film camera.... It's how to have Fun!! jaapv Posted July 25, 2007 Share #25 Posted July 25, 2007 Victor- this thread is not for you, it seems. Please go away and play with your kerosine lamps and goosefeather quills whilst we discuss the useless and regrettably inferior technologies of the 21st century..... btw the poor midtone rendering of the shot you posted makes it look like the model lost his righthand spectacles glass..... plasticman Posted July 25, 2007 Share #27 Posted July 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Aw come on guys - as has been said many times before, it's easy enough to simply block individual users from your own browser if you're tired of their input. No need imho to call in the police everytime vic has one of his rants. ps: I think that the spectacle glass is missing, actually... I'm not gonna hijack this thread with our own private conversation here - but what I'm saying (to everyone) is that if there's someone you don't like, it's easy to switch them off instead of calling for the moderator the whole time. As I've said before, I like your stuff vic - but I guess your finger is on the trigger too quick to realize that...

plasticman Posted July 25, 2007 Share #33 Posted July 25, 2007 Who is calling for a moderator??? Oh dear - now it seems like every time you and I share a thread, we have to step on each other's toes, somehow... this post, and the two that followed it seemed to me to imply that the moderator should be called in - as you know, sometimes people imply that they think the moderator should step in without actually contacting them, in the hope that the moderator actually does step in... Anyways, can you guys get back to discussing the thread's actual topic? I really am getting tired of these little petty fights that break out all the time... jaapv Posted July 25, 2007 Share #40 Posted July 25, 2007 Nope, Victor. It just means that I like digital photographs better and you like film photographs better. And that is all there is to it. Except maybe, that I like film photographs as well, and your taste is obviously more limited.
