Advertisement Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Hi muah, Take a look here Pricing history of 0.95 Noctilux 50mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FrozenInTime Posted March 11, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2019 Quote The world’s fastest aspherical lens has been announced by Leica. The new Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH offers extremely shallow depth of field at full aperture. This new lens is the successor of the famous NOCTILUX-M 50 mm f/1 marketed by Leica for over 30 years, beginning in 1975. The Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH will be available from February 2009 for £6290. UK currently £9,100. Your profile says Singapore - ask on local forum perhaps https://www.clubsnap.com/forums/leica.176/

adan Posted March 11, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 11, 2019 Gotta be careful in picking a currency to figure historical price changes. There have been - politics (which we don't discuss) - in the past 3 years that have skewed the relationships of £ and € and $. Not to mention whether the listed price includes VAT or "sales tax" or not (and whose VAT, percentagewise). I can't remember the exact intro price of the 50 f/0.95 in the US. Maybe $9,995, maybe a bit more. My memory says "first new M lens to break five figures" - but that's just a $5 rounding error. Anyway, current US price 10 years later is $11,295 - not including any local taxes.

pkwok Posted March 13, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 13, 2019 The price can go up and down, a good 2nd hand can be a good buy. 3 years ago, I picked a good 2nd hand (like new) at slightly more than USD6200. The price goes up a bit now to $8000.

According to Red Dot Cameras, a London Premier Leica Dealership, retail for a black 50/0.95 Noctilux is £8,645 and ex-VAT is £7,204. The satin silver variant is a little more. Pete.
