skimmel Posted July 23, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I realize this isn't M8-specific, but it is a direct result of the ease of getting digital images from the M8. What on-line photo sharing sites does everyone use (e.g., Shutterfly, Flickr, etc)? Personally, I'm looking for sites that can show high quality images and that are secure. I am not looking to have my photos available for public comments, but rather just a site to share pics with relatives and others. Thanks.
Advertisement Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Hi skimmel, Take a look here Online photo sharing suggestions. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
glenerrolrd Posted July 23, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2007 This is a timely topic. We have been trying Zenfolio..it has some nice security features that let you make available specific portfolios on a passwork basis . I would like the maximum size to be larger , it seems like you can only have small or large display options.
Guest sirvine Posted July 23, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2007 If you're up for a little tinkering, try pixelpost. Not the simplest solution, but probably the most flexible next to rolling your own presentation code. I run my site on it: solsphere

mnsh Posted July 23, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 23, 2007 I use the Leica Users' Gallery which has been inspiring for me and taught me a lot. It helped me get the maximum performance from my D-LUX2 and this gave me the confidence that I could handle an M8. My latest gallery there has end-of-term shots in Cambridge UK. I have just had two weeks away in the Highlands of Scotland again, and have a lot of DNG files to work on, so will be adding to my gallery later on! See it at Matthew Hunt and you can navigate 'up' to see all the users' work. I still rate myself as a beginner. Matthew

Overgaard Posted July 24, 2007 Share #7 Posted July 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is also Uber where you can decide if each uploaded picture can be seen by only you, selected friends or everybody. Further, pictures are displayed using flash which make them safer (as one can't just copy the picture out of the site easily). They also have methods of categorizing pictures so you can view certain albums (portraits, documentary, music, etc)
skimmel Posted July 24, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted July 24, 2007 You might also find David Pogue's recent column on the topic (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/05/technology/circuits/05pogue.html?pagewanted=1&ei=5087%0A&em&en=fcc6fb9ffa3aaeb9&ex=1181361600) in the New York Times helpful. --HC Thanks. Very helpful article. Nice to see the distinction between which sites are for communal sharing and which are for family sharing only. Interestingly, no Zenfolio on there. Any one else using this? Anyone have ideas why it doesn't show up in many reviews?
