LCD Not Showing

Just when I think I have the CL working properly something crops up that is annoying. This time I was using the camera outside with gloves, all of a sudden the menu crops up in the viewfinder, this has happened before just press on the shutter and it goes away. BUT now the LCD is not working, display setting EVF-LCD is on auto. Any other setting seems to either give me all viewfinder or all LCD. So on Auto the menu remains in the viewfinder and I can't activate play or menu on the LCD. There has to be a setting for this I even reset the camera and still no. But if I put on WLAN I get the connection setting on the LCD. OK what am I missing? I want the menu and play to be on the LCD.

Have you tried cleaning the EVF in particular the little square at the top which houses te eye sensor?

Thank you! Worked like a charm. Well while going figuring this out I read the manual much more deeply that I normally would have. Learned a lot.

It is a very common problem, sometimes it can be quite difficult to shift the minuscule piece of dirt that is causing the issue.
