stuny Posted March 7, 2019 Share #1  Posted March 7, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Early one morning in the Dominican Republic I opened our doors out to the balcony and noticed this insect on its back trying to right itself. I helped it and then took a photo. Barbara's research showed it to be a Loxa Viridis - commonly called a stink bug or shield bug. Apparently, it can ward off a predator by spraying a liquid with a nasty odor.
