wattsy Posted February 25, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2019 I like that the price increases come in to effect from April 1st. I guess it is better to have the opportunity to buy a roll of Provia for £20 (30% increase) than it is to not be able to buy it at all.
logan2z Posted February 26, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) Maybe I missed something but I thought Fujifilm was getting out of the film business completely? Haven't they been killing off their film line? Edited February 26, 2019 by logan2z
gbealnz Posted February 26, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 26, 2019 Fuji"Film" indeed. It's why I use Ilford as much as I can, and Kodak, and Foma, et al. Gary

Could be price signalling, which is technically illegal, but they could probably also show losses on film and paper. If Fujifilm's prices go up, others may follow suit, of course. In my country all of the terminals, for producing paper prints, in camera stores and pharmacies come from Fujifilm. These were producing great business some years ago, but with the advent of smartphones and social media, the printing of photos has declined massively. All of these developments are having knock-on effects, even on older technologies. William
