Does the Leica M-E have the improved rangefinder/shutter of the M9-P?

Hello, I am interested in acquiring the M-E. Since the M-E was released after the M9-P, would it have the improved viewfinder of the M9-P (minus the frame-line selector), and also the improved shutter? (If indeed it is true that the M9-P has a improved rangefinder/shutter over the M9).

ps: I am fully aware of the sensor corrosion issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Firoze,

I'm not aware that M9-P was "improved" in VF or shutter, over plain M9.

Only LCD screen was in sapphire and some cosmetics "improvements" on body (outside, no red logo) on M9-P.

I'm sure that M-E has the same shutter mechanism and VF as M9 (and M9-P).

...

Maybe you referred to M8-2 which had improved shutter (quieter and less vibrations) but even then the VF was same as plain M8.

Thank you Arnaud. I seem to recall reading, quite a while ago, that the M9-P had some slight mechanical improvements over the M9. Hence I posed the question. Maybe I am mistaken after all.

Talking about M9's viewfinder,

In 2010, when Leica released Limited M9 Titanium, I wonder what missed (at front):

the frame illumination window

I didn't know that from then M framelines would be LED illuminated 😏

Now that I think about it, I recall reading that the M9-P rangefinder was less prone to get misaligned vs the M9. As well the M9-P shutter had a slightly different sound vs the M9. Perhaps as Aranud says, this refers to the M8/M8-2 rather than the M9.
