I've never lost a digital image file on the road at all. I don't bother backing everything up until I get home. With the CL, I look through the day's captures with Leica FOTOs and download a couple of them into my iPad Pro 11-inch for quick processing if I feel like posting some. With the M-D, I just transfer the day's session into the iPad with the USB-C to SD Adapter, review them in Photos, process as I feel apropos, and delete the rest. The SD cards are safe as anything else for keeping my files until I get home.
