But would if you lock iso at say 3200 across M240/M10/Q, is shutter then the same with different exposure of overall image or different shutter speed yield same exposure of images? If you set the same ISO and aperture for each camera using the same lens then the M10 will require a slower shutter speed than the M240 to achieve the same exposure(brightness) level. I apologize for the question perhaps obvious, but I ask if the method used to measure exposure is the same: Spot; Average; etc

Only Centre Weighted with rangefinder as before.

Well, technically one could use advanced/ multi-field or spot metering while using the RF (without full live view mode), but there would be shutter lag as the shutter opens temporarily for metering off the sensor. Classic metering far preferable with the RF. Jeff

pedaes Posted February 25, 2019 Share #27 Posted February 25, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why do you ask? I did but don't think it adds anything, in fact I think it confusing. Michael was a journalist for LFI and never sure if he has ever actually used the cameras. Can you give me sequence to set advanced mode and get it to work without setting camera to LV, as I would find that extremely helpful. 2 hours ago, Jeff S said: Did you read Michael’s comment? pedaes Posted February 25, 2019 Share #28 Posted February 25, 2019 Michael is talking about M240. Is there an 'Advanced metering mode' on M10, which is the camera OP is seeking information on? 3 hours ago, Jeff S said: Did you read Michael’s comment? Jeff S Posted February 25, 2019 Share #29 Posted February 25, 2019 Apparently only M240 (and prior digital?). I never tested before sale, but meaningless from a practical standpoint for me, as I’ve only used ‘classic’ center weighted metering on an M since the 80’s. In any event they seemed to have dropped "Advanced" mode on M10, and the manual is quite clear that you can only access modes other than central weighted via LV.
