odd Posted July 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi; Vic Vic has just posted some beautifully photos on an other threads, using a lith process.. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/people/29521-night-chronology-sex-methodology-1-a.html I would like to try this process and have looked around the Norwegian photo sights for Fotospeed LD20 but can’t find anyone selling it. Is any one have any recommendation of other developers to be used to get the same effect?? (Of course I can by it on the net from other countries, but it’s easier to by it at home) Thanks OM

fotohuis Posted July 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2007 Moersch Lith chemicals: Fotohuis RoVo shop and if you want to look at some results: http://www.fotohuisrovo.nl/documentatie/Anleitung-Lith-nl.pdf I am not sure Wolfgang Moersch has a representative in Norway, otherwise you have to order on the web. The Fomatone (warmtone Foma) papers are doing fine with the lith processing. Best regards, Robert (from the Dutch Fotohuis, also abroad ) Fotohuis RoVo
odd Posted July 19, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted July 19, 2007 Robert; Thanks a lot. I' v problems with the language , but the photographs talks for them selves. I’ l look a little bit more for lith equipment in at home, but I’ m sure I’ l try this process and if I have to, I’ l order from abroad Regards OM
fotohuis Posted July 19, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 19, 2007 I picked this up from his website but now in German. http://www.moersch-photochemie.de/daten/pdf/Lithentwicklung-1.pdf Hopefully slightly better for you. Great source but most info in German language only. One of the important things is your darkroom light (fogging) due to the fact the "snatch point" can be over 10 minutes. Easy lith is a nice start and not complicated to start with this technique, certainly with the Fomatone papers.
vic vic Posted July 19, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 19, 2007 odd... hi man........ i agree with robert.....mr. moersh's products are really great for creative darkoom printing........ (i dont know the eassy lith though)...... one little advice..... if u order all the addetives that moersh offers with one of his lith kits, do not start using them (creative addatives)... first get used to the normal lith process without colouring and tuning it too much....... it is super important to get a good "feeling" to this process and when it becomes rewarding and a bit more controlable then u can start playing with it as u wish........... patience with lith is super important..... and indeed, as robert said..... well light-proof darkoom is important to avoid fogging since the paper is developed in lith for a very long time (10minutes, and even 20+ sometimes with some delutions of the chamical)..... if u can control the safe-light intensity (like on kindermann or kaiser lights) then even better, reduce the safe light...... if not, then make sure it is not those super bright orange ones (those may possibly fog a little bit)......... i dont know the foma papers yet, but now robert and mark (another member here) really intriguining me to try those products...... other nice recomendations about papers .... the same lith paper from the fotospeed if u can get....... ilford warmtone papers are really cool - especially the semi-mat..... agfa mcc118 (not the normal mcc111) is outstanding in my taste though not always rewording........kentmere art classic if u can find some today........ most of bergger papers are simply amazing in lith (and i think bergger has its own lith developer)..... maybe some other members have experience with some other useful papers ...... i will devote a page on my website to lith printing ....... various techniques etc...... the foto bellow is lith from kentmere art classic paper.... (with slight selenium archival toning)....... here is a link to ............................ shakespearian sonatas woman ................................... all the other fotos from the page are made on fotospeed paper, exept the one before the last one wich is agfa mcc118. Simon Larbalestier Posted July 30, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 30, 2007 I've been making lith prints since the early 80's and still find the most flexible developer to be Nova Lith. Moersh is a good developer but expensive and i do not use the additives. I use minimal safe-lighting to reduce possible paper fogging. All prints are then split selenium toned. You can see many examples of my lith prints on my domain website Simon Larbalestier. Also Ed Buffoloe's site Unblinking Eye has a very good description of lith printing provided by Tim Rudman. plexi Posted August 2, 2007 Share #7 Posted August 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Odd, try Foto Imports webkatalog in Trondheim, he can probably get it for you. Call Dag up, he is very friendly and helpful. If it`s not listed on his site, he can get it anyway...

Its summertime and holyday all over Europe and I haven’t got any chemicals yet, but I will. And when the nights are longer and the whether colder, I sure will work with the Lith prosess. Its inspiring to see all your good photos printed with Lith. Thanks OM
