I’m new to the forum and wanted to share my current frustration with Leica repair in NJ. I wanted to see if others have had the same experience.

i sent in a black paint Summilux to remove one dust speck and was returned with marks on it. Customer service did nothing after repeated emails and calls. No reply whatsoever.

second Incident I sent my SL body in for an estimate for repair. I turned down the repair since the cost was more then a used SL and the body was shipped back to me with vice clamp marks on the body. Teeth from the clamp completely scratched up the body, paint and leather grip. Issue still not resolved. Not sure how Leica can not simply take responsibility for this is mind boggling...

i think it’s fair to say we all expect nothing but professional care and quality of service from Leica. Given the cost of ownership, the quality of product and development, one would think the company values would extend into their service side.

i post the outcome of the SL but would love to hear others experiences with their service in the states.

I've used Leica NJ quite a few times, always having positive results.  After the Christmas/new year holidays (they typically close then) call service and ask for (If I recall correctly, Mr. Elway (Richard if I recall) and tell him of your experiences
