lysardman Posted December 21, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone had any recent experience with the cheap battery chargers in the UK? My Leica one appears to have died and I can't afford a replacement Leica one.
Advertisement Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Hi lysardman, Take a look here Battery charger. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
antigallican Posted December 21, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2018 Nitecore do one for the M9. I don’t use that one but I do use their one for the Q and it’s so reliable (with battery state readouts) I use it in preference to the Leica device. lysardman Posted December 22, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted December 22, 2018 Thanks for the information, however, the problem I have with the Nitecore is that it's a USB charger, I'd prefer a mains one.

I'm curious - why? I have a Nitecore one and it works well (for CL) - including from a USB mains adapter (Amazon Kindle, phone charger.......). lysardman Posted December 22, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted December 22, 2018 I'll look into that when I get over Christmas. Have a great festivities everyone.
Graham (G4FUJ) Posted December 22, 2018 Share #6 Posted December 22, 2018 You're in a great location! Few years since I was down that way - still need to go back, again. https://www.nitecore.co.uk/Shop/Products/Chargers/13595-Nitecore-ULM9-Leica-Camera-Charger.html - cheaper than showing on that auction site. Then plug it into a "decent" mains USB supply, not a cheap Chinese one. Has the advantage you can use the Nitecore in a car with a 12V adaptor and the possibility of plugging into a computer... carbon_dragon Posted December 22, 2018 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) It probably doesn't help but either the M9 or M8 Leica charger should work. You can always try to find one used somewhere. Both chargers are radically different in look but they both charge the same battery types.
lysardman Posted December 22, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted December 22, 2018 Thanks for the information everyone. I'll see what the finances are like when I get back after Christmas.
lysardman Posted January 5, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted January 5, 2019 Well, I managed to get the Nitecore charger and get it working. However, when I put the own brand Leica battery into it to charge after a few minutes of charging it showed End so I took the battery out and put it into the M9 and had a look at the charge and it showed just over 75%. I repeated this with an OEM battery with the same results, except this showed below 75%. So, I returned to the original Leica battery charger and put both the batteries in. They showed the flashing light for a few minutes then a constant green. Back in the M9 and this showed no change from above. Any suggestions as to the cause of this and ideas what I do next? Dao De Leitz Posted January 5, 2019 Share #10 Posted January 5, 2019 Hello, both the battery and the charger seem to be fine.
