Hi I've looked through the manual several times and can't figure out why when I use the flash on my D-Lux the photos are blurry or shimmery and not clear like natural light.  It's like they're out of focus just a bit.  I've tried AUTO as well as a faster shutter setting (250) and still the same problem.  Any help is sincerely appreciated!

Hi mate, thanks for this.  It does seem to be on and I've changed the tracking focus also and it seems to be a bit better.  I'm not sure how to change the shutter speed automatically with the flash it's a bit convoluted for me... :)

Shutter speed is not very relevant with flash, unless you are using fill flash and balancing with ambient light. The lightburst from the flash is far shorter than the shutter speed. Simply keep things at aperture priority or program.

I would advise you not to use tracking focus as standard AF setting, certainly not in conditions where you would use flash. It is unlikely that the camera will be able to acquire focus in the first place. Tracking focus is meant for specialized use, like birds in flight or sports.

Use multifield or face recognition.
